The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, a co-op horror game developed by Chilean studio ACE Team and published by Nacon, launched July 15 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Its defining feature is purely cooperative play, with up to four players forming a team, picking a contract, and setting out to explore.

Set during the age of the conquistadors, the game sends more and deadlier monsters at players the longer an expedition drags on. Explorers also lose their grip on sanity and begin hallucinating: a teammate may look like a monster, or an ordinary patch of level ground may turn out to be a lethal trap. The studio pitches the game as pure chaos and says strong demo reception gave it the confidence to lock in the release date.
