Warframe unveils new chapter Tau, with Seoul chosen as the first Tenno VIP World Tour stop

Digital Extremes revealed Warframe's Tau chapter at TennoCon 2026. Seoul hosts the first Tenno VIP World Tour stop on September 4.

Digital Extremes held its annual TennoCon 2026 in London, Ontario from July 10 to 11, announcing the next chapter and second-half update roadmap for Warframe, now in its 13th year of service. One of the standout announcements was that Seoul, South Korea has been chosen as the first stop on the second-half Tenno VIP World Tour. A live devstream introducing the autumn update Narin's Ice Blade takes place in Seoul on September 4, with key developers including Jeff Kruus attending in person to meet fans. From Seoul the tour continues to China on September 12, then London on October 2 and Glasgow on October 4.

Tau, a new chapter beyond the Origin System

The core reveal of this TennoCon was the new star chart Tau, expanding beyond the Origin System, and the first look at the Sentient city Fornax. The developers said they will not discard the existing Origin storyline but run both worlds in parallel. The new narrative introduces figures such as the Warframe Brisco, voiced by Matthew Mercer, and a crime boss named Hunla. Warframe's first card minigame, Portau, arrives alongside it.

The autumn update Narin's Ice Blade adds an ice-themed 66th female Warframe and Citrine Prime, and confirms a long-requested Banshee rework. Details will be covered at the September Seoul devstream. Digital Extremes also announced that TennoCon 2027 will take place on July 16 and 17 next year.
