Square Enix ends Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis service on October 7

Square Enix shuts down Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis on October 7, three years after launch. Paid currency sales have already stopped.

Square Enix announced that the mobile RPG Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis will end service at 3 p.m. on October 7, 2026. The decision comes roughly three years after its September 2023 launch. The game drew considerable interest from fans of the original but never translated that into sustained commercial performance.

Ever Crisis reworked the expanded Final Fantasy VII universe for mobile, packaging sprawling side stories such as Crisis Core and Before Crisis into a single title. With the shutdown confirmed, sales of the paid currency Red Crystals stopped immediately, and unused balances will be refunded according to guidance to be announced later. Square Enix apologized for the abrupt news and asked players to keep enjoying the game through to the closing date.
