Even with console and mobile releases arriving in volume, the PC MMORPG remains a defining genre in the Korean market. 2026 has several established studios lining up new PC MMORPGs, which makes it a welcome year for anyone who has been waiting on a proper PC MMO. Here's what's coming.
Direct sequels to major IPs
- Aion 2 Global (September 2026 target · NCSoft) — The official sequel to Aion. PC-first with a simultaneous global launch as the goal, and the thing to watch is how it carries over the original's identity, aerial combat in particular.
- ArcheAge Chronicles (November 2026 target · XLGames) — The next entry in the ArcheAge line, supporting PC and console (PS5, Xbox). Its high-freedom sandbox systems are what's generating expectations.
New IPs and next-gen swings
- Chrono Odyssey (November 2026 target · NPIXEL) — A new IP drawing attention for its Unreal Engine 5 visuals. Combat and exploration are built around time manipulation, with a simultaneous PC and console release in preparation.
- MIR5 (targeting within 2026 · Wemade Next) — A numbered entry in the MIR series. The schedule remains fluid, but development is aimed at a release inside the year.
Other Korean PC and console releases worth tracking
