Soulslike sequel Mortal Shell 2 confirmed for August 20

Cold Symmetry set Mortal Shell 2 for August 20. The stamina gauge is gone for faster combat, and a three-hour test is live on Steam.

Mortal Shell 2, an anticipated Soulslike that previously had only a vague within-the-year window, is now confirmed for August 20. Developer Cold Symmetry revealed the date on July 8 alongside a new trailer. A sequel to 2020's Mortal Shell, it returns to the same world and follows protagonist Harbinger on a journey to reclaim the Undermother's stolen eggs.

The biggest change is the removal of the stamina gauge. With that resource constraint gone, combat is more aggressive and faster than in the original, and Harden, which stiffens the body to deflect attacks, can be used far more freely. The trailer showcased a variety of environments, from darkened battlefields to cold snowfields.

A public test covering the first three hours is currently running on Steam, and anyone can apply through the official Steam page.
