Hyeolpung carries the lineage of Mukhyang Online, which released in 2004, and is the predecessor to the currently operating Mukhon Online. The developer says it kept Hyeolpung's original systems intact while adding convenience features proven in Mukhon, blending nostalgia with modern quality of life.

Beyond the pre-registration that ran from June 23, additional registration is open through July 27 for players who missed the earlier window. Accounts that register a gift code receive lottery entries for prizes such as pure gold, gift certificates, and the paid currency Wonbo, scaled to the level reached during the event period.
